The black wolf that has been plaguing Dallas is now being presumed deathly injured, or dead. Though a body has yet to be found, local authorities have stated that as there have been no further attacks since the shooting on April 24, the animal has likely wandered out of the city to die.
"It's unusual in a case like this, for the territorial wolf to just give up and leave. If it is merely injured, one of the wildlife sanctuaries will likely find it within the next few days," said Detective Valliant of the Dallas Police.
Animal experts seem to agree, though do warn that even an injured wolf can be dangerous. "It is not a dog," stated Wendy Pirtle of the Fort Worth Animal Sanctuary. "It is still a wild animal. An injured, and scared wild animal. This could make it more prone to attacks."
Police urge people to remain cautious of wolf encounters, but strongly encourage the vigilantism to stop. "While we appreciate the heroics of Mr. Blakely and Ms. Logan, we do not want to see innocent animals or people being killed."
Should you encounter a black wolf, please contact the Dallas Police Department immediately.
((OOC Note: Tala's attacks have stopped in conjunction with a 'black wolf' being shot in West Dallas. Are they over? Stay tuned to find out.))
