Synopsis
February 10, 2005 - Abbey tells Orion to meet her at her garage after they leave Bloody Mary’s. There she reveals to him that she is a Werewolf and that she knows that he is a Shifter.
Setting
Bunker's Garage and Salvage:
Bunkers's Garage and Salvage sits on a rather large lot in the West Dallas neighborhood. The parking lot is small, and one spot is occupied at all times by a beat-up tow truck. Two fully equipped bays, complete with safety notices on the walls are for employees only. To the right side of the bays is an office, containing a simple desk with a grubby looking computer, and a filing cabinet. Behind the desk is a small whiteboard which lists inspection prices, and those for other services. The walls are decorated with a few small display cases where items available for sale are located.
Cast
Abbey:
There's no telling what her age is, somewhere in the early twenty's if someone was to guess. Her height is about 5'9 a bit on the tall side but nothing that abnormal. Long bright red-orange, lose spiral curls are found upon her, it flows down to her mid back and can be often found pulled into a pony tail to keep it out of the way. A few lose curls fall to either side of her cheeks, and bangs rest just a bit above her eyes.
Clothing at the moment a black short sleeved shirt that shows off her tattooed arms without a problem, match black leather pants and black boots. A thick leather cord rests around her neck with a pewter dragon charm upon it, the two inch charm holds within its grasping forepaws is a pale blue gem.
Three golden studs can be found upon the edge of both ears, another silver stud found in her right eyebrow. She also has a good collection of tattoos and scars. An old small slightly jagged scar rests across her right cheek, others found elsewhere on her. Black tribal like tattoo markings curl around and then down both of her forearms to circle around her wrists in a Celtic knot work pattern. Other tattoos are unseen thanks to her clothing. Her eyes are an interesting pale icy blue color; rather eerie in a way which tends to make her stand out if anyone pays enough attention to her.
___
Orion:
You see a man in his mid thirties who stands a little over six feet and weighs approximately 180 pounds. One can tell by looking at him that he works out regularly. His face is rugged but attractive, usually with a couple of days worth of stubble on his cheek. His hair is brownish red and cropped short, spiking up a bit on top. His eyes are deep gold and appear to be almost an unnatural shade. He bears a tattoo of a paw print on his left upper arm. When the man speaks, he has a very distinct Irish accent. It is strong, but not to the point that he is difficult to understand.
The man is wearing a tight fitting brown shirt with blue jeans. He has brown boots on and a silver watch on his right wrist. His ears are each pierced with a silver ring, and he has mirrored sunglasses pushed up on his head.
Scene
Once they left the bar Abbey told Orion to meet her at the garage in a few hours while she went to call the person in question. The garage itself looks closed, the bay doors have been pulled and locked shut and the only lights found outside are the safety type lights are on. There is a single door that has been proped open that leads into the garage and a light can be seen within the office. Abbey is sitting at the desk, her clothing changed since the bar, back to a gray tshirt and slightly older looking jeans, shoes only a pair of sneakers at the moment. She is at the moment reading over some invoices and the like, seeming to wait for someone to arrive.
___
Orion pulls up at the garage on his motorcycle. In all honesty he probably shouldn't have been driving so soon after having two drinks, but he really did not want to stick around the bar after Josephine had acted so discourteously toward the vampire. He was also more than a little excited to meet someone who could answer some of his questions. He parks his cycle and removes his helmet before dismounting and setting the alarm. The building looks closed, but he precedes forward and finds an open door. Orion sticks his head in and knocks a couple of times. "Hello? Anybody home?" He is wearing the same outfit he had on at the bar.
___
Abbey hears the cycle and glances towards the door slightly waiting for Orion to wander on inside it seems. "Hey Orion." She offers while waving to him. "Come on in." Is offered while she sets the papers down on the desk in a neat pile.
___
“Oh, there you are!” Orion apparently did not see her at first. He steps inside and looks around, not seeing anyone else. “Did you get a hold of yer mate, there?” He doesn’t see or hear anyone else in the shop. In fact it’s a little creepy being in the garage at night. He shivers slightly involuntarily.
___
Abbey ahs softly at that and chuckles a moment. "Well.. Ya." There's a pause and she points at the empty seat on the other side of the desk. "Have a seat." She waits until he does before going on. "The person I was talking about was myself by the way.." There's a slight pause once more before she goes on. "I know your a shifter, I'm.. Well I'm a werewolf." Might as well just get it all out in the open.
___

___
Orion quirks a brow and sits in the indicated chair. He crosses one leg over the other and looks at the woman intently. After she speaks Orion looks a bit pale. "Wait…You…How could you know that I can?" He shakes his head, "And yer a werewolf? So they are real…" He stops and closes his eyes a moment, taking all of this in. "Ok so you said that I'm a shifter, right? That's…Different from a werewolf? I mean, when I transform I kind of LOOK like a wolf. Actually it was the same for me uncle…And apparently for the rest of the clan, too."
___
Abbey lifts a finger and taps her nose slightly. "Can smell it." She says with an amused tone. A slight nod is offered to his question about him being a shifter. "Wolves are well.. I can only change into one thing, a wolf, shifters though can transform into more then one thng, a dog, cat, what ever they see I htink. I'm not that good with information on shifters actually." A soft ah escapes her. "Werewolves are allergic to silver, they tend to run in packs, most are bossy as well and like being in charge." "I'm not sure why you transform into only the canine, have you tryed anything else?"
___
Orion seems a bit surprised that she could smell him. He sniffs his underarm. “I…Smell like a dog? But how come I couldn’t smell you?” He shakes his head. “I started turning into the hound when I was a teenager. Uncle Gillecomgain said it was the Curse of our Family, to turn into the Black Hound. My parents died before I knew about any of that, and I only ever saw my Uncle transform under the moon.” He shrugs, “I thought it was just a family thing. Honestly I’ve never really tried to turn into anything other than the hound. The thought never crossed my mind, really.”
___
Abbey shrugs slightly. "I can't answer that.. An ya you smell sorta like a dog, or a wolf actually. Its sorta hard to figure out if your a dog or wolf to my mind." She lets her arms fold upon the desk."Well its not a curse. I've heard of your 'curse' from me dad when I was kid, thought it was a good story I have to admit."
___
Orion quirks a brow again. "Maybe I should try turning into something else sometime. I'll…Give it a try." He intends to give it several tries once he gets home. "I don't think that I am a werewolf, I have never had a negative reaction to silver." He thinks for a moment. "And what do you mean its a good 'story'? The Donnelly Curse has been known for generations. My entire family seems to have died in odd occurrences. You've seen yourself the kind of bad luck I can cause." He is referring to the tripping man and the broken glass. No one would usually think about such things for more than a few minutes, but to Orion they are direct results of his presence.
___
Orion feels a bit bad for Abbey, but he still shakes his head. “I’m sorry about your pack. But I’m talking like really unlucky stuff here. My Uncle was killed by a falling chandelier. That just doesn’t happen. And just look in any book in Irish folklore, the Black Hound always causes misfortune.” He sighs. “I did not know that there were many werewolves in Ireland. My Uncle did mention them once or twice, but the way he spoke of them I thought they…you…were not real.” Orion shifts slightly in his seat, “Though now I understand why you mentioned not wanting to go back to Ireland.”
___
Abbey is quiet for a moment before clearing her throat. "Its alright.. Its been a while to say the least." She offers softly. "Well that's true about the black hound.. Suppose that's why the curse started hum?" She tilts her head slightly. "Its alright.. Not many know of the wolves or the shifters, can you imagine what would happen if they did?" It would be crazy that's for sure. "I would like to go home.. But I don't think it would work out well."
___
“Well, the way it is passed down through me family, the curse is caused by becoming the hound, or by seeing him. Supposedly it was started by some magical being back in the dark ages, but my Uncle didn’t believe that, either.” He is curious about why her clan was killed, but he feels like that may be intruding on her past. “Well if you are truly not worried about the curse of my family and you want to visit the homeland sometime, I do have two cursed properties I cannot sell. No one ever goes there.” He shrugs, “If you could tell what I was, there’s no reason any werewolf wouldn’t know. I assume they avoid those properties like everyone else, otherwise one might’ve contacted me. Or do werewolves and shifters not usually get along?”
___
"Well from what I've heard shifters first have to see the animal before they turn into it. Perhaps its just went through the family over and over. One sees the hound and they keep turning into it?" Well its possible, right? As for her pack, well the neighboring pack wanted to take over the area and her pack refuses to leave so there was a fight to say the least. She tilts her head while looking to him at the talk about his homes in Ireland and smiles some. "Maybe I'll take you up on the offer someday.."
___
“So I have to see the animal to turn into it. Maybe one of my ancestors way back when saw the Black Hound and like you said, it just keeps getting passed down. I can see that happening. My Uncle showed me his transformation before I started changing in my teens.” He sighs, “But I’ve seen lots of animals and I’ve always become the hound. Maybe…Well I guess because I always assumed the hound was all I could become. And I turn into the beast on the Full Moon as well, which makes for a difficult social life as I’m sure you’re aware.” Orion nods. “Yes. I’m sure I’ll have to stop back there to visit at some point. I’ll let you know so you can decide if you want to come. “
___
Abbey nods lightly. "Ya that sounds about right." She offers while lifting a hand to rub across her neck a moment. "Ya the full moon makes my life a lonely to say the least. Guys tend to think I'm cheating on them or something." A thin smirk is seen, she ponders what Shawn will think. "Lucky enough I own the garage now so I don't have to explain what I do to anyone here." A nod is offered. "Well.. Let me know when you go back. I'd pay my way."
___
Orion seems slightly distracted. Maybe if he tries practicing with animals similar to the hound at first it will become easier. He looks up at Abbey as she speaks. "Yeah, college was distinctly not fun. Granted I went when I was old enough that I did not have to live on campus." He sighs. "But it's nice to see that others who have a similar condition to mine exist out in the world." He hesitates a moment before asking, "You wouldn't, by chance, happen to know anyone else who is like me, do you? I have a few questions about shifting that maybe they might know more about than you. Like how they are able to become different animals." Abbey does seem to know a bit about shifters, maybe she knows someone.
___
Abbey curiously watches her while tilting her head. "Ya I imagen it was." She smiles while taking in a slight breath. "I know one shifter that you could talk to perhaps. I'd have to speak with him on it first to make sure it would be alright of course."
___
Orion nods, "Of course. If you could just tell them I'm interested in at least speaking with them, if they do not want to meet me." He sighs and stretches slightly. "Well tonight was a bit more productive than I had anticipated. Go to a bar to meet a vampire to see if maybe they know of anyone else like me, and I end up meeting a werewolf. One from my own hometown. What…An interesting set of events." He almost said luck, but he knows that if luck is real, then none of his is good. Despite what Abbey might have told him about the curse being a story, he can't get past the feeling that he truly is cursed. Perhaps when you are raised that way for your entire life the belief just becomes a part of who you are.
___
Abbey smiles and nods. "Sure." She offers softly. "I'll talk to him,. I get the feeling he'll be willing to help out though. His a good guy." This said while she nods and then leans back in her chair, a soft chuckle escaping her. "Well.. Glad I could at least offer some help with it. I suppose you should know there is a wolf pack in the area.. Though I haven't really met them."
___
"A pack, eh? So your kind aren't as rare as I thought. Granted, I suppose Dallas is a rather large city. Well, if they came across me I'm sure they know who I am. But I haven't run into anyone I suspect of being a werewolf…Other than you. And I only suspected after you told me, so maybe that's the wrong choice in words." Orion taps his chin for a moment, "Anyway, I suppose I wouldn't run into them in wolf form. I try to keep myself restrained on full moons. Sometimes that Hound gets a bit…Um…Nasty? Doesn't like other folks. Sometimes hard to control and all that."
___
Abbey shrugs some. "Well that's what I've heard anyway.. I've yet to actually meet the pack, only one member and that was it." She's quiet for a few moments. "I'm not sure what I would do being around a pack anyway.. I've never been around many wolves before." A soft sigh escapes her. When Emily was killed she cut herself off from any others like herself, and did many things she regrets now. "Ya.. I tend to go out to the wilds to escape the city. I don't think my other half would do well roaming around here. She's not that friendly at times.." She can sometimes remember things that happens and its never been nice to say the least.
___
Orion thinks about that. "The wilds might be ok, I used to do that in Ireland. But back home I didn't really have to worry too much about poisonous snakes or coyotes or wolves…Well apparently wolves. And I think a lot more Americans carry guns than Irishmen." He sighs, "I'll stick to my shackles for now, I suppose." He sits there awkwardly for a few minutes before speaking again. "Well I suppose I should probably head home at some point tonight." He has been out for several hours and his ferrets probably miss him. That plus he is a little anxious to try shifting into something other than the Hound.
___
Abbey ahs faintly. "True.. Though I haven't ran into a rattler yet that I couldn't kill." She smirks faintly and nods. "Alright.. if you ever want to talk your welcome to come by ok?" "An I'll talk to my shifter friend and get back to you."
___
Orion stands and stretches a bit, nodding that he understands. “I’ll be sure to stop by sometime, and thank you for giving me some of the answers I’ve been searching so long for. If you for some reason need to get a hold of me…” He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a Business Card, apparently even Museum Researchers have such things. He hands it to Abbey. “My phone number’s on there. Use the cell rather than the museum extension if you can help it.” He heads toward the door intending to leave when he turns back. “Thanks again. Have a good night.”
___
Abbey tilts her head while watching him and lifts a hand to take hold of the card to look at it. A smile is offerd and she nod. "Sure thing.. You know how to get a hold of me, just need to call here." She points out with a smile as she pockets the card. "Take care Orion, glad I could help you somewhat."
___
Orion offers a final wave before heading out the door. The sound of his motorcycle can be heard, and then the sound fades as he heads home.
