Abbey’s Troubles

Synopsis

March 15, 2005 - Orion stops by Bunker’s Garage to visit Abbey, where she explains why she was injured the last time that he saw her.

Setting

Bunker's Garage and Salvage:

Bunkers's Garage and Salvage sits on a rather large lot in the West Dallas neighborhood. The parking lot is small, and one spot is occupied at all times by a beat-up tow truck. Two fully equipped bays, complete with safety notices on the walls are for employees only. To the right side of the bays is an office, containing a simple desk with a grubby looking computer, and a filing cabinet. Behind the desk is a small whiteboard which lists inspection prices, and those for other services. The walls are decorated with a few small display cases where items available for sale are located.

Abbey:
There's no telling what her age is, somewhere in the early twenty's if someone was to guess. Her height is about 5'9 a bit on the tall side but nothing that abnormal. Long bright red-orange, lose spiral curls are found upon her, it flows down to her mid back and can be often found pulled into a pony tail to keep it out of the way. A few lose curls fall to either side of her cheeks, and bangs rest just a bit above her eyes.

Her clothing isn't anything un-normal. A short or long sleeved shirt can be found on her depending the day or the weather, most dark colored. Black or blue ankle length jeans are found on her lower half, they tend to be a bit snug on her hips and flow down the rest of her leg. Her foot wear also depends on the weather, or what she's doing. Sneakers or boots are her choices though. A thick leather cord rests around her neck with a pewter dragon charm upon it, the two inch charm holds within its grasping forepaws is a pale blue gem. Depending on the weather is what jacket she wears a long black leather duster or a more simple leather jacket.

Three golden studs can be found upon the edge of both ears, another silver stud found in her right eyebrow. She also has a good collection of tattoos and scars. An old small slightly jagged scar rests across her right cheek, others found elsewhere on her. Black tribal like tattoo markings curl around and then down both of her forearms to circle around her wrists in a Celtic knot work pattern. Other tattoos are unseen thanks to her clothing. Her eyes are an interesting pale icy blue color; rather eerie in a way which tends to make her stand out if anyone pays enough attention to her.

___

Orion:
You see a man in his mid thirties who stands a little over six feet and weighs approximately 180 pounds. One can tell by looking at him that he works out regularly. His face is rugged but attractive, usually with a couple of days worth of stubble on his cheek. His hair is brownish red and cropped short, spiking up a bit on top. His eyes are deep gold and appear to be almost an unnatural shade. He bears a tattoo of a paw print on his left upper arm. When the man speaks, he has a very distinct Irish accent. It is strong, but not to the point that he is difficult to understand.

The man is wearing a tight fitting brown shirt with blue jeans. He has brown boots on and a silver watch on his right wrist. His ears are each pierced with a silver ring, and he has mirrored sunglasses pushed up on his head.

Scene

Abbey can be found at the garage, like normal, though what is not normally seen is that she's actually not working. Instead she's in the office working on getting bills paid and orders in on supplies the garage needs. The garage is empty, yet the lights are on and there is a radio playing. Abbey seems to be the only one around as even Steele has come up missing. Abs clothing at the moment is a black tshirt, jeans and boots, her hair is pulled back while she works which happens to show off a few scars across the right side of her neck.

___

Orion had not come to the shop after he had seen her last. Though he had made certain that she would make it back to her shop safely, he had mysteriously disappeared afterward. Had Abbey tried calling him he would not have answered his phone, and he has called in sick at work for the past three days.

The sound of Orion’s motorbike can be approaching followed by footsteps approaching the door. He knocks on the outside edge of the door before entering the main garage. He see’s Abbey in her office and steps forward toward where she is seated. He looks a bit disheveled, but this is not uncommon for the man as of late.

___

Abbey had tryed to call him after a few days passed, mostly to thank him for getting her home, which she wasn't sure if she would have gotten home. After the trip to the hospital she stuck close to the garage, busted ribs make her feel weak after all. The motorbike catches her attetnion and she blinks while glancing up, it takes her a moment before she figures out who it is, and she then sees Orion. "Hey.." Is offered while she watches him, noting his apparance. "Your alright Orion?" This questioned while she points at the free chair at the other side of the desk.

___

The man smiles as he enters the office. “Hey Abbey.” Orion nods and sits in the chair. “I’m fine, just a bit under the weather. But how are you?” He shakes his head. “Sorry I kind of ditched you after the park the other night. I suddenly felt very ill and felt it would probably be better for me to get home while I still could.” He frowns as he surveys Abbey, “You seem…Wounded. What happened?”

___

Abbey waves a hand slightly. "Its alright.. I figured you got busy.. I have to remember everyone else has a lift even if I don't." This said with an amused tone. She nods while watching him. "You feeling beter?" A soft ah escapes her at the question and she glances to her hands a moment, finding them rather interesting at sudden. "I got into a fight.."

___

Orion stretches his hands out in front of him and cracks his fingers. “I’m feeling a bit better now. I think it may have been from eating that skunk a few nights back.” He makes a face. “I finally stopped stinking, but I had to throw out some clothes.” After Abbey’s next comment the man looks a bit concerned. “What kind of a fight? You know, they’re saying that the black wolf is attacking shifters now, too. It wasn’t him was it?”

___

Abbey lifts a hand to brush some hair from her eyes. "I can imagen you would feel sick after eatting something like that." A slight shake of her head is seen. "No.. I was jumped by a few days when I was walking Steele. Steele was off ahead of me so I guess they didn't see him." She isn't as tough as she acts, three is a bit more then she can handle. An as for the ones that jumped her she kows them well as she races against them often in the illegal bike races.

___

Orion frowns. “Well did they catch the jumper? I mean, you must have seen his face, yeah?” He doesn’t ask why she was jumped, in case it was for something more than her wallet. “I mean, that werewolf Police Officer seemed fairly friendly, you could report it to him…If you haven’t already.” He ponders for a moment. “You know, with all the crazy stuff happening in my life I kind of forgot that normal folk can be dangerous, too.” Granted, he’s assuming they were ‘Normal Folk’.

___

Abbey chews on her lip a moment while letting her arms rest upon the armrests of her chair. "I didn't get that good look of his face." Lie.. Not that she can explain it, after all the racing is against the law. "Its fine.. Steele came running back and bite one of 'em so I don't think there be doing anything for a while."

___

Orion frowns again, that’s not very encouraging. “One of them? As in there was more than one?“ He shakes his head, “Well just because they won’t do it anytime soon doesn’t mean they won’t be doing it at all ever again. Their next intended victim may not be as lucky as you.” He ponders for a moment. “Want me to go out to where you were attacked and see if I can sniff anything out? I was actually thinking of going out to the lake later to see if I could find any trace of that rogue wolf, anyway.”

___

"There was three guys.." Abbey offers softly before a faint sigh escapes her and her pale gaze drifts back to Orion. "Look.. I know who they are.. I race motorcycles on the side, illegal like. I can't go to the cops it would be like turning myself in." She pauses before going on. "I always beat these guys in the races and there tired of a girl beating them in front of there friends.. They figured if they 'taught' me a lesson that I'd stop racing."

___

Orion ponders for a moment. “Well you wouldn’t necessarily have to admit to racing in order to turn them in for attacking you.” He seems relatively unbothered by her illegal activities. “Granted it would probably come up eventually.” He shakes his head. “Well what, three grown men? They were probably surprised by the dog, they could come back for you better prepared next time. In fact, they may be more pissed off now that your dog took a bite out of one of them.”

___

Abbey smirks faintly. "I can't go to the cops.. I'm not going to jail for racing a bike on the side.." A slight shrug is seen while she glances over her fingernails a moment. "They might.. But.. I can't do much about it. Other then beat the crap out of them and call the cops then." She doesn't seem that worried about them coming to the garage, though she is a bit scared. Without a pack to help back her up she could face these problems often with her attitude over some things.

___

Orion shakes his head, “No, jail would be a bad thing. I think Eli would probably be annoyed if you got locked up and the police learned about us.” Yes, he was at that shifter meeting, he was just way in the back and had left without talking to anyone. “Well, you know where they live? I could keep tabs on them if you’d like. Maybe give em a good scare if they seem to be up to something.” He shrugs “Heck, don’t really know I’m not terrible luck yet. Maybe I could curse them for ya.”

___

Abbey ehs softly at this, she knows Eli would be pissed.. After all Eli likes her /so/ much after all. "Not really.. I don' tknow if that would be a good idea. Knowing my luck I'd get shot by one of the freaks there." She shakes her head slightly. "No.. Its alright.. I don't want you getting in trouble because of me."

___

Orion frowns slightly, having been slightly excited to go play search and destroy for Abbey. “Well regardless, you should probably be a little more cautious. I mean, you have people who want to hurt you out there and I was able to just walk in. I don’t even see Steele anywhere.” He does a double check to be sure. “If you ever see them around here or if you just have a funny feeling, give me a call and I’ll run out here as soon as I can…Assuming I have my phone on me…And thumbs to hold the phone.

___

Abbey is quiet for a few moments, everyone she's ever cared about family or friend wise has died in her past, she doesn't want to drag Orion down the same path because of her stupid mistakes. "Alright.." She offers softly, though she most likely won't call him. "I'm not that sure where Steele is." Her gaze drifts towards the garage. "I went looking for him around the garage and even out in the salvage yard. I'm sure he'll be home at some point.. His just usually out in the salvage yard when I can't find him here." She's worried, but still figures the dog will come back when his hungry like normal.

___

Orion isn’t completely convinced by Abbey’s response, but he’ll accept it for now. “Hmmm…Does he typically go missing like that? If you’d like I could go looking for him for you.” He doesn’t seem too thrilled about that idea, however. Orion does not do so well with dogs, and he really has no desire to deal with Steele without Abbey around to control him.

___

Abbey watches the garage a few moments, as if expecting the dog to show up, she frowns slightly. "No.. I know you don't like dogs that much. So its alright.. I'll look for him again in a bit." She shakes her head slightly. "Normally he’s just out in the garage or in the salvage yard which I suppose is why I'm somewhat worried about him." Darn dog is the one thing that keeps her going somedays.

___
Orion follows Abbey’s gaze as she looks around. “Well maybe he is…I don’t know…Off doing dog things. You know how fun that can be.” He nods knowingly. “He seems to be a smart dog, I’m sure he’s not too far off.” He looks a little uneasy again as he offers once more, “But I really don’t mind taking a look for him if you’d like. I’m sure if he saw me he’d just clamp down on my leg and I could just drag him back.”

___

Abbey ehs softly. "I suppose that's true.." She offers softly. "Just use to him being here." A faint smirk is seen. "His never once tryed to bite you.. I think my other side would attack you before he would." "If you want to look fo rhim I won't stop you.. An I would appricate it, especially if you found him."

___

Orion eyes Abbey suspiciously. “I’ll keep that in mind the next time we’re out shifted together.” He smirks, letting her know he doesn’t really think she’s going to attack him anytime soon. “But yeah, I’ll take a quick jaunt around outside, see if I can spot him before heading out. Don’t want to shift and hunt him down, that’s sure to freak him out.” He stands up and stretches, “I’m serious about calling me if anything seems fishy to ya, alright?”

___

Abbey smirks faintly as she hears him, a soft breath escaping her. "Gee.. Thanks." She offers softly. It should be a interesting full moon for her with the broken ribs to say the least. "Thanks Orion.." This said with a faint smile. "I'll give you a call.. Really. That works both ways you know? I remember you talking about that vampire in the dress after all."

___

Orion looks confused for a moment. “Vampire in a…Oh yeah him. I think he tried to eat me the other night. He tried to lure me into his house with a steak. I mean, he claims he was just trying to give me a bath, but…Actually now that I think about it that is also a bit creepy. I mean, more innocent than trying to snack on me, but still.” He turns to head out. “Like I said, I’ll take a look around.” He offers a wave and heads out. Later on he’ll text Abbey that he didn’t find any signs of Steele, though it’s possible the dog returned while he was out looking.

___

Abbey tilts her head and nods slightly. "Ya.. But then he is a vampire." She doesn't trust them period. "Thanks Orion.. Have a safe trip home alright?" With all the talks about some wolf attacking shifters she worries about him wandering home, especially with it getting dark now. As for Steele he won't be found, nor does he return to the garage that night. Perhaps tomorrow.
