Synopsis
March 22, 2005 - Orion asks Abbey to meet him at the Dollar Theater. There he tells her that he suspects he is being followed. Abbey offers to let him stay at her lace for a few days.
Setting
Dollar Theatre:
The Dollar Theatre is a bit run down, not quite as nice as the larger theatres in the city. This one lies on the outskirts and shares a parking lot with an old strip mall. There is a patch of forest and a small field behind the building that is often littered with beer cans.
The theatre itself is a bit shabby and dirty, with run down 70s décor and a few broken down arcade games. The concession stand is rarely open, when it is you can get stale popcorn for $8.95 and a small soda for $6.50. The seating area isn’t terrible, but some of the seats have no cushions and a few of the aisle chairs are missing arms. Most of the movies that play here have had their run in the normal theatres and have either already come out on video or they will be available for purchase very soon.
Cast
Abbey:
There's no telling what her age is, somewhere in the early twenty's if someone was to guess. Her height is about 5'9 a bit on the tall side but nothing that abnormal. Long bright red-orange, lose spiral curls are found upon her, it flows down to her mid back and can be often found pulled into a pony tail to keep it out of the way. A few lose curls fall to either side of her cheeks, and bangs rest just a bit above her eyes.
Her clothing isn't anything un-normal. A short or long sleeved shirt can be found on her depending the day or the weather, most dark colored. Black or blue ankle length jeans are found on her lower half, they tend to be a bit snug on her hips and flow down the rest of her leg. Her foot wear also depends on the weather, or what she's doing. Sneakers or boots are her choices though. A thick leather cord rests around her neck with a pewter dragon charm upon it, the two inch charm holds within its grasping forepaws is a pale blue gem. Depending on the weather is what jacket she wears a long black leather duster or a more simple leather jacket.
Three golden studs can be found upon the edge of both ears, another silver stud found in her right eyebrow. She also has a good collection of tattoos and scars. An old small slightly jagged scar rests across her right cheek, others found elsewhere on her. Black tribal like tattoo markings curl around and then down both of her forearms to circle around her wrists in a Celtic knot work pattern. Other tattoos are unseen thanks to her clothing. Her eyes are an interesting pale icy blue color; rather eerie in a way which tends to make her stand out if anyone pays enough attention to her.
___
Orion:
You see a man in his mid thirties who stands a little over six feet and weighs approximately 180 pounds. One can tell by looking at him that he works out regularly. His face is rugged but attractive, usually with a couple of days worth of stubble on his cheek. His hair is brownish red and cropped short, spiking up a bit on top. His eyes are deep gold and appear to be almost an unnatural shade. He bears a tattoo of a paw print on his left upper arm. When the man speaks, he has a very distinct Irish accent. It is strong, but not to the point that he is difficult to understand.
The man is wearing a tight fitting brown shirt with blue jeans. He has brown boots on and a silver watch on his right wrist. His ears are each pierced with a silver ring, and he has mirrored sunglasses pushed up on his head.
Scene
The theater is nearly empty tonight, which is not uncommon for a weeknight. Orion has been coming here for the past couple of nights. He has chosen this particular theater for the simple fact that it tends to be empty. He has his usual disheveled appearance, but he has an air of nervousness to him today as well. He keeps glancing around suspiciously and peering into the darker corners of the theater. He glances at his watch and looks toward the doorway of the theater he is sitting in, apparently waiting for someone.
___
Abbey is running a bit late, which isn't a surprized as she cound't find a parking place. After getting a ticket she is slowly wandering into the theater. Her gaze slowly slips over the area, head tilting slightly as she moves along following her sense of smell to where Orion happens to be. A tired smile is offered to him while she moves to take over a seat next to him. "Hey." Is offered. She catches sight of his appearance and tilting her head while peering at him curiously.
___
smiles, “Thanks for coming”. He looks around the room again, they are apparently the only two who had a desire to see “The Murdercycle” this evening. “You weren’t followed, were you? Did you see anyone suspicious out there?” He whispers this to Abbey and then holds up a hand and shakes his head, indicating for her to remain quiet. Once the sound on the film starts up he leans in as though expecting an answer. “I think there’s been people trailing me.”
___
"Of course I'd come.." Abbey offers with a soft tone. She tilts her head while glancing to him and then looks around before peering back at him. "Well.. Not that I know of.." This said with a soft tone. "Orion.. what's been going on?”
___
Orion hunches down in his seat slightly so that he will be less visible to anyone entering the theater. “I don’t know, I thought it was just coincidence at first. I keep seeing the same guy everywhere I go. And every time I look at hi he pretends to be looking past me. When I start to approach him he moves away.” He peers over the seatback again before continuing. “And there’s this owl. I’ve seen it every night. I see it when I leave work, I see it out my bedroom window, I’ve seen it when I go out at night.” He shakes his head, “That’s not just coincidence, right?”
___
Abbey frowns as she hears this and shakes her head slightly. "No.. I wouldn't say its a coincidence." This offered softly. "What are you going to do about it?" She questions curiously while peering around, finally sniffing at the air to check and see if there may be anyone around in some form or another.
___
Orion shrugs “Hiding out at night, staying in public view during the day.” He offers Abbey some stale popcorn he’d picked up at the concession stand earlier. “I try to avoid the windows in my house. When I want to go out someplace I shift and run out through the back door. Luckily I took Dan’s advice and started hiding outfits different places so shifting back is less awkward.” He frowns. “Can Glen turn into an Owl? I know you said he kind of wanted to kill me.”
___
Abbey waves a hand slightly at the popcorn. "Well.. His a shifter. I mean.. Its possible he /could/ shift into an owl after all." This said with a soft tone. "Looks like your worn out.." This said while she shakes her head slightly. "Maybe I can help you or something.."
___
Orion looks a bit more worried when Abbey confirms that his paranoid suspicion could be a valid one. “Well then why is he just watching me? There must be a reason, right?” He chuckles when she offers him help. “Tranquilize me so I can finally sleep, then lock me in a safe so no one can get to me.” He frowns, “Actually, I haven’t seen you in a couple days. Did Steele come back yet? As terrified as I am of dogs I’d be able to tolerate him if you’d let me borrow him for a short while.”
___
Abbey frowns slightly at this. "Look.. You can come back to my place and sleep.. Alright? Better then not sleeping." There's a pause at the talk of Steele and she glances towards the rolling film watching it a few moments before swallowing. "Steele's dead.." It hurt her to say it, she hasn't actually had to say this to anyone yet. No one at the garage asked and she wasn't about to bring it up.
___
Orion is shaking his head and about to say something when he stops. “Wait, are you sure about that? Abbey I’m so sorry. If I’d known I never would have brought it up.” He moves to put a hand on her shoulder as a sign of support if she’ll allow it. He hesitates before speaking again, “If you think it was those people you got into a fight with…Well I don’t know if you want to get mixed up with whoever’s trailing me. I don’t want you to pick up more enemies on my account.” He thinks for a short while, “But at the same time I’m not sure that you should be alone. I mean, with Steele…And if that other black wolf was at your garage, he may have been looking for you.”
___
Abbey watches the screen a few moments more before letting her gaze lower to the floor, she still recalls when she found Steele a few days ago. It wasn't a pretty sight. She sniffles faintly, a hand lifting to rub across her eyes a moment, before she clears her throat as if trying to keep herself from loosing what bit of grasp she has on keeping her emotions back. "Its my fault his dead. Damn dog just wanted to protect me." A faint sigh escapes her. "Either way you do it Orion I'm mixed up in it. I'm not going to sit back and let anyone hurt you." She glances to him curiously at the talk about the other wolf. "Maybe.. But I'm nothing it wants to mess with." The thought of some wolf out there possible looking for her doesn't bother her in the least.
___
Orion shakes his head, “It’s not your fault. It’s their fault. Once we get things cleared up with what exactly is going on with that wolf and the owl, we’ll figure out a course of action for the bikers, too.” From the way Abbey describes the situation Orion assumes it was the bikers who killed Steele. He looks indecisive for a few moments before speaking again, “I may take you up on your offer. Your place is closer to town and it would be harder for anyone to try anything there.” In truth he’s just a bit frightened and does not want to be alone currently. “If you really wouldn’t mind me crashing on your couch for a couple nights. But if you were just offering to be polite I totally understand.”
___
Abbey is quiet while she watches Orion a few moments. "Its alright.. I'll deal with them.." Which most likely won't end well for Richerdson and his crew if she truely does get her hands on the men. A nod is seen. "Course I'm sure.. I wouldn't have offered it unless I was sure." There's a pause. "Anyway.. It's sorta hard getting use to how quiet the place is without Steele.." Steele had been part of the garage for three years, everything about the place causes her to remember him. "Your welcome to stay as long as you want."
__
Orion ponders Abbey’s words for a moment before nodding, deciding that if he’s near by her then he can also keep an eye on her and make sure she doesn’t do anything stupid where those bikers are concerned. “Hopefully I’ll only need to stay a couple nights. I don’t want to inconvenience you too terribly.” He thinks for a moment. “I’ll come over tonight if you don’t mind, and I’ll stop by my house tomorrow during the day. The Owl’s not there during the day. Then I can pack up a few things and bring them over…” He frowns “Well I’ll bring them over tomorrow night. Maybe I should avoid the garage during the day. Reduces my chances of running into Glen.”
___
Abbey isn't fully sure just what she would do the biker crew, she has plenty of ideas in her hand but going through with it is a different story. "I've given Glen some time off.. His arm has to heal after all." She shakes her head slightly. "You won't inconvenience me.. Really. If I didn't want you there I wouldn't have suggested it."
___
Orion nods, "Alright." He pulls out his cell phone and opens it, checking the time. "Well I suppose it's a relief that someone that I know wants me dead won't be hanging around too much. And as thanks I'll cook you dinner the next few nights. But it's a bit late now. If you haven't eaten I'll buy you a burger or something…Unless you really want to watch the rest of this movie." He motions to the screen, not really having been paying attention to the film which is apparently about a possessed motorcycle or something.
___
Abbey chuckles faintly while she peers at him. "Movie.. Oh well I haven't been paying much attetnion to it." Her mind off on other things, wonder why. "An I won't stop you from cooking. Lucky if there is anything cooked in that place that I don't burn.”
___
Orion stands and leaves his uneaten popcorn on the floor. “Well, I’ll teach you to cook a few things that are pretty easy to make, then.” He looks at the movie screen again and frowns, “Yeah, I think it got terrible reviews, I’d imagine there would be people in here who wanted to see the movie if it were any good.” He shrugs and holds an arm up to motion toward the door. “Shall we? What do you want? Burger? Taco? Anyplace were there’s likely to be other people around.” Less chance of being attacked in a crowded place.
___
Abbey tilts her head to peer at the screen then back to Orion as she stands up. "Gee.. Can't see why it would." She smirks a moment before she steps out from the seat heading ot the door. "A burger sounds good to me. Know a place that is still busy at this hour too." She gets the feeling that he would want alot of people around after all.
