The hour is still somewhat early, nearly nine in the morning. It may be an early start, too early for the likes of one particular woman, but she knows that the earlier the start the better. She already has the day planned but before it begins there is something that she must do. Quinn pulls out her cellular phone and dials none other than Scarlett Fontane, her maybe someday friend and possible nemesis under different conditions. It's funny how life works. She's currently standing inside her new home and has a proposition for her doppelganger.
-
Very fond of starting her day after eleven in the morning, the early morning call means that there will be a very groggy voice on the other end of the phone. After, of course, a half dozen rings it takes to wake the artist out of her slumber. There's a yawn as the phone is answered, before a long, drawn out, groggy, "Hello?" It had better not be a telemarketer, or she's going to be less than happy.
-
And if it is a telemarketer? She can't exactly set them on fire. Still, an awake but far from chipper voice response to the greeting. "Fontane." If they're on a last name basis, so be it. "I think I might have found something for you. If you're interested." Her voice echoes in the large area that she's standing in.
-
Not everything comes to setting something on fire, dousing it with water, or shaking the ground beneath its feet. Sometimes, things are just dealt with in a sleepy, verbal tirade. Scarlett groans once, wipes the sleep from her eyes, and yawns again. "Niveus? It's early what on —" Sounds of her getting out of bed can be heard and she lets loose another yawn. It's early, far too early for her. "Found something?"
-
"Yeah. I wish I was still asleep. Some people prefer to work in the mornings, though." Like her real estate agent. The sound of her heels echo on the flooring of the building. "I finally decided to actually get a place. But that's not why I called. Technically." Quinn continues moving, her thoughts already on renovations. "You were looking for a place for your meetings, right?"
-
"Once we get larger," Scarlett says with another yawn. Screw this being up early stuff, she's throwing herself back on the bed and snuggling into the blankets. "Can handle three people here for now." Herself and the two others that fully committed to it. "But yeah. I've been looking for a place."
-
Being in bed would be such a luxury right now. "I know you mentioned not wanting to have it at your place." At least, that's what Quinn can remember. "Not too far away from you is this abandoned warehouse that now actually doubles as my home. There's tons of extra space for you to do with as you please." How's that for a peace offering?
-
Suddenly the comfort of bed is lost again. Scarlett is bolting upright, yelling, "WHAT!?" She heard what Niveus had to say, she's just making sure she heard correctly. Once she calms herself a little, she much more softly adds, "We wouldn't want to impose." That, and leaving her Coven in the hands of a Niveus is somewhat disconcerting to her, especially this early in the morning.
-
As soon as the yell begins, the phone is moved away from her ear. "Calm down, Fontane. I know it's early, but come on." It's mostly a tease, but still Quinn believes the other woman is slightly over reacting. "I needed some space for some of what I deal with at night. You need some space that hopefully won't be linked back to your shop. I only need part of this space and don't mind letting you use the rest." It isn't as if Quinn is asking to run the Coven or anything. "It's large enough that I can put up walls and install locks, keeping it secure. You know, your own space."
-
There will need to be contracts drawn up, and payments made. Scarlett goes over this in her head, budgeting what she can and can't afford. "Give me an hour or so and I'll make my way down there." That's if Quinn is going to remain at the warehouse. "Take a look at the space. Figure out what we'll need…"
-
Honestly, she never mentioned payments or contracts. That's a Fontane for you: jumping to conclusions. "Take your time. I'll be taking measurements and going over a few things. I realize it's far too early for anyone to actually be awake and functioning." Quinn likely will be taking this evening off from her nightly activities. "And don't feel obligated. I just thought I'd offer."
-
Not a jump to a conclusion, just a necessity. Scarlett isn't going to take the space if she can't pay for it in some way. It's just who she is. "An hour." Enough time to shower, dry her hair, and grab a coffee before heading out. It's still inhumane to be up before eleven, but that's the joys of owning your own variable hour business — you're the boss and you can sleep as much as you want to. After saying this though, she hangs up the phone without so much as a goodbye, and goes to get ready.
